Here's a little surprise that even caught me off guard as I worked on it over the past few days: a new entry for the RDNA-verse. The 'verse was one of the first AU that really left my drawing board, one that served as simultaneously an alternate history timeline and a Hetalia AU. It's also one that's admittedly largely been dormant for about a year if not more...until now. So after several edits, tweaks, synchronizing with and updating details from the old AU, here's the finished result! And as an added touch, I tried to keep the style as consistent if updated as possible with the rest of the 'verse.
Lastly, just to be sure, this is a work of fiction. This is not a political, ideological or propaganda screed.

"A century on from when the Terror first started, the New World had long since become a major haven for the Free Nations and arguably the Free World as a whole. In fact, with the exception of Reactionary Australia, the Americas are the only continents left where non-Collectivists countries still predominate. It is also here where many of the leading world powers are based from, holding on to their way of life against a persistent foe.
North America in particular became host to two leading constitutional monarchies. Through the House of Windsor-Romanov, Loyalist Canadians had long taken the place of their British brothers 'across the pond' as the heart of the Imperial Commonwealth of Nations. Further south lay the Royal Dominion of New Austria under the Habsburg Throne-in-Exile, a legacy of Old World glory whose people both revere and surpass their former homelands' shadow. Neighboring both Crowns meanwhile was the American Federation, a powerful bastion of freedom and democracy that continues the work of its republican founders.
South America meanwhile was long dominated by Gran Patagonia, a major powerhouse whose reach extends beyond the continent. Like their American counterparts, its citizens came to see themselves as upholding the best democratic liberty can offer. Neighboring it is the Legitimate Union of Brazil, a remnant of Portuguese power that had seen better days. It since reached the point that the military-led regime answered to Buenos Aires as much as to the throne they nominally serve. These two nations helped keep the dogmatic Collectivist Internationale's foothold in their corner of the New World at bay.
Together, these states formed the bulk of the 'Assembly of the Free World' along with their Japanese, Chinese and USLA allies. It was at least in part through them that the besieged South Italians have been able to hold the line. They were also a major reason why, despite the loud noises from their Reactionary rivals in the 'League of Neutral Defiance,' the so-called Endless Cold War hadn't resulted in a Red victory even a hundred years on. Despite the constant threats from the Internationale and simmering tensions, whether from the initial mass influx of refugees or socio-economic uncertainties, they persisted. For these countries to uphold the legacies of the 'Lost Nations' even as they tried going forward and find ways to end the Collectivists was in many ways an act of defiance onto itself.
And yet by 2024, even the New World was no longer as safe as it used to be. A resurgent Red streak had put the Free Nations in an increasingly tight corner as the balance of power fell apart. Economic unrest, social anxieties and a rekindled arms race helped put society further on edge while rumors spread of the Internationale having the necessary means behind their threats of at long last 'completing' their global Revolution. The Terror it seemed was reaching its final stages.
It was also then, at the eleventh hour that this century-long chapter that the Endless Cold War came to an end."
