Description
Here's another photo taken from my family's recent trip to Nagoya! This one though, of the city outskirts around Aichi Prefecture was taken the day after arrival. The parents wanted to do some shopping in a large outlet mall located in Nagashima (also known for its spas and onsen), which is about 50 minutes from Nagoya Station by bus. Personally, I found the countryside on the way more interesting.
As a bit of trivia, the vicinity of Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture and the neighboring areas are also home to the largest concentration of Japanese-Brazilians in the country. The descendants of those who first migrated to Brazil about 100 years ago (where a sizable community of Japanese still exists), they brought back Catholicism and the Portuguese language with them; as a result, a number of signs especially in train and bus stations also have Portuguese translations.

Woah, I didn't think Japan had any immigrants outside of some Chinese and Koreans?
